When it comes to being the world’s largest retailer, Wal-Mart is a force to be reckoned with. Tech Crunch is reporting Wal-Mart is trying to find a way to goose its online sales record by allowing customers to pay for online orders with cash. Buyers order merchandise online and take their order number to the store and pay with cash, then the order is shipped.
At first glance, the idea seems a bit off because folks could go to the store and buy what they are after. But Wal-Mart is reaching out to a market segment that is often forgotten, which makes it a great idea.
USA Today reports Wal-Mart is keenly aware that most of its shoppers live payday to payday, and when coupled with lack of credit and or debit cards, allowing shoppers to have access to thousands of products not normally in stock grants the retailer another revenue stream.
