Rakim Announces Canadian Tour And Headlines Roots Picnic

This year’s installment of The Roots Picnic will be headed up by the legendary emcee Rakim when it goes down on June 2nd and 3rd in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Just before Rakim stops in for the 5th Annual Roots Picnic, the golden age rapper will head up north for a Canadian tour.

The annual event which is hosted by The Roots will include performances from Kid CuDi, De La Soul, Wale, Diplo, Danny Brown and a number of other artists with Rakim representing the most recent addition to the lineup. Tickets for the event are already available through Livenation.com and concertgoers have the option to purchase a weekend pass or tickets for individual dates.

Rakim will kick off his Canadian tour in Montreal on May 17th and then hit up Ottawa, Calgary, Edmonton, Saskatoon, Nelson and Vancouver. The rapper will be joined by Conscience as well as Dirty Taz and Full Course for at least part of the tour, according to the rapper’s Facebook page.

The tour will be presented by Red Bull and Boreale in conjunction with Good Friday Entertainment and tickets are available through Wanttickets.com for the Montreal show.
