From The Times Union:
ARATOGA SPRINGS — A man was injured Tuesday night while trying to sneak into a Nickelback concert at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center, venue officials said Wednesday.
Kevin Beaudette, 22, of Tupper Lake slipped down a creek embankment near the merchandise tent, officials said.
“Last evening an individual who appeared to be intoxicated, and who was outside the venue, apparently lost his footing and slipped down the embankment that runs along SPAC’s Route 50 parking lot,” SPAC President Marcia White said in a written statement.
The Saratoga Springs Fire Department helped the injured man up the embankment after medical crews were unable to retrieve him, a Saratoga Springs firefighter said Wednesday.
Neither firefighters nor SPAC officials could describe the extent of the man’s injury.
“This guy was acting on his own in a highly intoxicated state near a gorge,” said Dan Keefe, a spokesman for the state office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation.
Beaudette slipped over the edge of the Geyser Brook Gorge and fell about 40 feet.
Rescuers had to use a basket to get him out of the gorge, Keefe said.
Beaudette was taken to Albany Medical Center Hospital. He was treated for bruises and cuts and released Wednesday.
No charges have been filed.
