Joe Keithley, known to many as singer Joey Shithead for legendary punk band D.O.A., will be running for the New Democratic Party in the riding of Coquitlam-Burke Mountain in the next British Columbia provincial election.
According to The Province, the B.C. NDP officially approved the musician’s nomination papers yesterday. He will run in the riding currently represented by Liberal MLA Douglas Horne.
“I always enjoy a challenge — I think it’s going to be great,” Keithley told the publication. “And I think it is going to be a lot of fun and exciting. And if it is not exciting, then I’ll find a way to make it exciting. It can’t just be a snooze. You got to get out there and let people know what your ideas are and the way you are running.”
