Spotify releases most streamed tracks of the summer? Fun., Flo Rida, Carly Rae Jepsen and Train top the list

From NME:

Fun, Flo Rida, and Carly Rae Jepsen have topped Spotify’s poll of the most streamed tracks of the summer.

Collated across June, July and August, Fun.’s ‘ We Are Young’ topped the list, with Flo Rida’s ‘Whistle’ coming in at number two. Carly Rae Jepsen’s ‘Call Me Maybe’ came in third place, with Train’s ‘Drive By’ in at number four.

Gotye’s ‘Somebody I Used to Know’ – which remains the biggest selling single of 2012 according to the Official Charts Company – was listed at number 5, even though it was released in December last year.

The singer told NME recently that even he gets a “bit sick” of hearing the track all the time. “I do wonder how many times you can listen to the same piece of music,” he said. “I can’t think of any song that’s ever been picked up like this and I do feel like saying to people sometimes ‘Come on guys, there are other songs out there’.”
