Google beams up Star Trek doodle for show’s 46th anniversary

From CBC:

Saturday is the 46th anniversary of the premiere of the original Star Trek series and Google is celebrating early with an interactive “Google doodle”.

The letters in the Google logo are dressed up as the crew of the Starship Enterprise: Spock, Uhura, Captain Kirk, Dr. McCoy, Sulu and a very nervous-looking ensign in the infamous “red shirt.” (They were mostly likely die when beamed down to an alien planet.)

The doodle isn’t just a drawing, either, but an interactive cartoon that plays out scenes reminiscent of the pioneering 1960s science fiction TV show.
