It’s probably fair to call Pharrell Williams a futurist. The singer-songwriter-producer-designer-author named his record label Star Trak, selected the image of an astronaut to be the logo for his Billionaire Boys Club clothing line, and even named his son Rocket.
So perhaps it should come as little surprise that he released the first episode of his show “ARTST TLK” on the web through a YouTube-based outfit called Reserve Channel, and not on an Earth-bound cable television station.
“I think 20-30 years from now, content will be consumed in a completely different way,” Williams tells me in a recent phone interview. “It may not be something that’s handheld. If you think about the concept of singularity, it’s not so far fetched to believe that there will be some sort of interface with the body … I’m not sure how, but that’s where we’re headed.”
