JAZZ.FM91 celebrates the revitalization of Regent Park

On Friday, March 22nd and Saturday, March 23rd, JAZZ.FM91 celebrates the revitalization of Regent Park with events at the Paintbox Bistro in the Daniels Spectrum building.

JAZZ.FM91 celebrates the music of Regent Park with a Live-to-Air broadcast on Friday, March 22nd. Brad Barker will host “Afternoon Drive” from 2-6pm from the Paintbox Bistro in the Daniels Spectrum building in Regent Park. The show will feature performances by pianist Thompson Egbo-Egbo and his trio, as well as special guests, including Richard Marsella, Director of the Regent Park School of Music, and drummer Archie Alleyne.

The broadcast will feature live music, interviews, and discussion about how people are helping to revitalize the neighborhood. We’ll also feature JAZZ.FM91 personalities, prizes, and surprise guests. Come join us as we celebrate the musicians, people, and organizations that are making a difference in this vibrant community.

JAZZ.FM91 presents Jazz 4 Kids on Saturday, March 23rd, 10-11am at the Paintbox Bistro. This interactive musical workshop for children features the award-winning Free Play Duo. The presentation will take place during brunch service so that parents can bring the entire family for an engaging Saturday morning activity.

Free Play Duo features multi-instrumentalists Suba Sankaran and Dylan Bell, who use their diverse musical talents to entertain children all around the world. They utilize their voices as well as piano and bass to create a concert of endless variety, with the intimate delivery of two people.
