Remember when Sinead O’Connor ripped up the picture of The Pope on SNL? That action is now an art piece

From artist Mick Minogue:

Made for the ‘Is this Thing On 2 show In Gallery 1988, LA. The show theme and title we’re kept under wraps until the opening night so that the visitors on the night were the first to see the work. Take that Internet. The Show was themed onSaturday Night Live and the greatest comic moments of its history. One of my earliest and fondest memories of SNL was back when I was about 11 years old In 1992 when a young Irish superstar Sinead O Connor sang alone with no backing music to a live studio audience and the world at large. She made a statement to the world about her personal feelings of the abuse within the Catholic Church and In some respect this may have knocked her from the starlight. Seeing as the ‘Is This Thing On 2’ show has no dress rehearsal and no one knows what to expect I felt It was apt to remember one of Its greatest moments, a moment which SNL to this day still won’t air.
