hmv, Canada’s premiere retail destination for music and entertainment, announced today the official, live launch of The Vault, the company’s digital download and streaming service. The Vault, which had been running in beta for over four months, provides Canadians with instant access to the biggest hits, hottest new releases, and deepest catalog, boasting more than 13 million tracks and constantly growing.
“The official launch of The Vault is an important indicator of the care we take when listening to what our consumers want and need when it comes to their personal music experience,” said Allan Mamaril, Digital Content and Marketing Manager for hmv Canada. “We are confident that the enhancements made to The Vault will impress consumers and ultimately bring them closer to the music they love.”
The newly optimized service showcases improvements to speed and depth of content, while introducing a new and refined mobile app that allows subscribers to access to their personal libraries and favourite playlists on the go.
Users can still access hmv’s digital download store, The Vault Store, to download individual tracks and albums found at www.store.inmyvault.com.
“While we continue to see strong demand for CDs, we are also seeing an increased demand for accessing music in the digital environment, making the launch of The Vault especially timely,” said Nick Williams, President and CEO of hmv Canada. “We know that the more than 35 million consumers who come through our stores each year count on us to enhance their music experience and The Vault is a clear indicator of our ability to do that. This combined retail and online offering will enable us to better connect with our customers and drive our business forward in 2013.”
The Vault’s membership subscriptions will now be available for purchase in-store. PURE members will receive an exclusive discounted price when purchasing a Vault membership in-store. Fans can unlock The Vault at www.inmyvault.com or access it with a mobile subscription at iTunes and Android app stores.
