PSY’s ‘Gentleman’ beats ‘Kony 2012,’ sets Guinness World Record for most-viewed video

From Death and Taxes Magazine:

PSY’s “Gentleman” video may have been banned by state-owned South Korean TV, but it has set a new world record online for the fastest viewed video in the least amount of time, ever. “Gentleman” was viewed 38 million times in its first 24 hours, beating the record previously set by Invisible Children’s “Kony 2012″—enough to certify it for a Guinness World Record. (And this one didn’t push PSY into a psychotic meltdown.)

In just more than two weeks since it was uploaded, “Gentleman” has been viewed over 255 million times, about one-fifth of its predecessor “Gangnam Style,” which has been watched 1.5 billion times in nine months, the ranking champion for single most-viewed video of all time.
