On April 30, 2014, In a blog post published on Twitter, Inc.’s official company blog, the Company revealed an overwhelmingly positive response after the news that NBA commissioner Adam Silver has announced a lifetime NBA ban on Los Angeles Clippers’ owner Donald Sterling, which comes in response to his racist comments. According to the blog post, right from the scheduled start of the NBA’s live press conference at 2:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m. ET, there were over 1.3 million Tweets sent about the rapidly-unfolding story. The post further revealed that the Tweets per minute (TPM) peak of 37,960 came as Twitter reacted immediately after Commissioner Silver announced the lifetime ban of Donald Sterling from the game.
