Yesterday, Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne unveiled her new cabinet, and it’s pretty great news for music fans. From Music Canada‘s newsletter:
The Hon. Michael Chan, who has been a champion for the music sector as Minister of Tourism, Culture, and Sport, is now Minister of Citizenship and Immigration. Music Canada offers him our congratulations and thanks him for his years of championing music and his support of the Ontario Music Fund. We look forward to continuing to work with him in his new role.
We also congratulate the Hon. Michael Coteau, who becomes Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sport, as well as Minister Responsible for the 2015 Pan and Parapan American Games. We look forward to working with Minister Coteau to further develop Ontario’s music sector.
We welcome the Hon. Charles Sousa back to his role as Minister of Finance. Minister Sousa has been a champion for music as an economic driver, and with Minister Chan, was instrumental in the creation of the Ontario Music Fund.
We also look forward to working with the Hon. Liz Sandals ,who continues her role as Minister of Education, and the Hon. Brad Duguid, who was appointed Minister of Economic Development, Employment and Infrastructure, on other issues important to the music sector.
