A 2011 Alzheimer’s diagnosis hasn’t stopped Glen Campbell’s prolific music career, with the album See You There arriving just last year. But in a press release announcing the soundtrack for the upcoming documentary Glen Cambell: I’ll Be Me, it was announced that his latest recording for the EP will be his last.
His final song, “I’m Not Gonna Miss You,” was written by Campbell with Julian Raymond and addresses his struggles with Alzheimer’s. The Band Perry and Glen’s daughter Ashley Campbell are also featured on the five-song EP, arriving Sept. 30, almost a month before the film’s Oct. 24 release date.
“We are so honored to not only release Glen Campbell’s final recording, but to be associated with such a profound film that will help raise awareness of those suffering from Alzheimer’s and spotlight the important role of those who care for them,” Big Machine Label Group President and CEO Scott Borchetta said in a statement. Borchetta is also the project’s executive producer, alongside director James Keach.
