Partnerships Make Canada Second Largest Market for Rdio’s Streaming Music Service

As the official music partner with the Toronto International Film Festival, streaming media service Rdio is providing a highly visible branded music player and curated playlists during the 11 day festival, along with live concerts and other special events.

Radio has also extended its partnership with Universal Music Canada and the indie recording studio The Orange Lounge to deliver exclusive audio recordings of concerts and artist interviews, along with behind-the-scenes streaming video content.

Audio programming from Rdio Sessions Live @ The Orange Lounge will soon be available to Rdio’s Canadian customers and subscribers at Rdio.com/Sessions; videos from the sessions are available online at ETCanada.com/OrangeLounge.

Today’s announcement by Rdio CEO Anthony Bay was accompanied by a private session from Universal Music’s international sensation Ellie Goulding, whose 2013 session at The Orange Lounge remains one of the most-viewed on ETCanada.com.

When the Shaw Media property first teamed up with The Orange Lounge and Universal Music Canada in 2013, page views on the network’s site increased by 820 per cent, to well over 4.9 million, site managers report.
