Gordon Lightfoot Releases First New Song In 12 Years

It’s been 12 years since Canadian music icon Gordon Lightfoot has delivered a new song to fans but this November 18 the song “Plans Of My Own” will be released to all DSPs and streaming services. The song, recorded in 2001 showcases Lightfoot on his signature 12 string guitar and singing at his best.

The release of this new song is in conjunction with the start of Lightfoot’s upcoming Ontario tour dates including his annual multi-date stand at Toronto’s Massey Hall (November 23 – 26).

In addition to the release of “Plans Of My Own,” Warner Music Canada will also re-release the 1976 Gordon Lightfoot classic album Summertime Dream on 180-gram vinyl for Black Friday (November 25). Summertime Dream has been expanded to include the track “Betty Called Me In” that was left off the original pressing of the album. The song eventually found its way on to the 1999 Greatest Hits collection “Songbook.”
