Exclusive Stream: The Royal North’s “Alibi” EP

The Royal North takes pride in their old school approach to rock-n-roll with a throwback sound; they marry layered guitars, larger-than-life drums, and four-part harmonies in a bed of iconic Canadian influence. Since forming in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island early in 2014, they’ve written a wealth of original material, toured through the Maritimes, Quebec and Ontario, charted a top 5 single on the internationally syndicated ‘East Coast Countdown’ radio show and cracked the regional top 10 in CBC’s Searchlight contest for 2016.

The Royal North’s new Alibi EP features 6 original tracks, all written in part by each of the five members. The Alibi EP will be available for sale through your favourite platforms on December 14th, but you can listen now before everyone else in this exclusive stream!

Their debut album tentatively titled Trans-Canada is scheduled for release in Spring 2017 and will include 12 original tracks, all written in part by each of the five members. Three of those originals have been available on the band’s website, SoundCloud and Bandcamp page for the better part of 2016 under the name Alibi EP.

The lead song “Goodbye Alibi” was The Royal North’s entry into CBC’s Searchlight competition for 2016 and featured a top notch video produced by well-decorated Charlottetown native Kyle Simpson of Lowell Productions. As testament to the love and support they receive locally, the video was considered paid in full when The Royal North agreed to perform at Kyle’s wedding. That video thrust them into the Searchlight, finishing comfortably in the regional top 10. “Goodbye Alibi” also found some spins on local rock radio station Q93 in support of their Searchlight bid.
