The Echelon was in full force at the Budweiser Stage in Toronto. Thousands of fans flocked to the amphitheatre, some from as far away as Edmonton to see Thirty Seconds to Mars as they kicked off the North American Monolith Tour. I have been a long time fan of Thirty Seconds To Mars and had the amazing opportunity to watch Jared surprise unsuspecting fans in the audience with ticket upgrades. I always love the interaction that Thirty Seconds To Mars has with their fans getting up close and making sure they know they are appreciated

The stage was dimly lit and fog slowly rolled across the floor, the atmosphere was set for what turned out to be an incredible evening. Jared came out from the shadows wearing a bright red three piece suit and a long flowing red jacket to match, the crowd screamed, the women swooned as Thirty Seconds To Mars started the night with “Up In The Air”.

The entire night was full of energy and stamina as Jared ran from one end of the stage to the other, even at one point waving a Canadian Flag. He announced to the audience that he always loves coming to Toronto. Jared and his brother Shannon shared the stage with fans not once but three different times throughout the evening. Jared brought up a 7 year old named Logan during “Rescue Me” and told him the stage was his. The young man danced around, a little shy at first, but as the song went on this little guy got more brave and busted out the moves.

This, being the first night of the North American Tour, Thirty Seconds To Mars was on fire complete with huge balloons that bounced off the heads and hands of the people below. There was many fans in pit waving their homemade flags with pride, dancing and singing in the cool night air.

The sounds of their new album “America” echoed through Budweiser Stage but they made sure they didn’t leave out the older favourites like “Kings and Queens” and “The Kill”. My favourite of the night by far is a song they have made their own “Stay”.

If you haven’t had the opportunity to see them live, I highly suggest you find out when they are coming to your area and go purchase tickets.

Once again thanks to the crew because without them there is no show!
