Legendary Musicians Favorite Casino Games

Famous people like to gamble just as much as ordinary folk. The difference is that for them, money is no object.

You would think that this would take away some of the fun of gambling, since it does not matter as much whether they win or lose. But this does not seem to be the case, with a lot of celebrities being open about their enjoyment of betting.

No deposit casinos are making casinos more popular than perhaps ever before. As immortalized by Dire Straits, “Get your money for nothin’ get your chicks for free” – so what are some legendary musicians’ favorite casino games? Let’s take a look.

Harry Styles

One Direction heartthrob Harry Styles was always considered to be the “bad boy” of the band having been pictured visiting various casinos over the years.

Roulette and blackjack are said to be Styles’ typical games of choice when he heads to the casino, with his trips always drawing attention from the local media.

Styles’ former One Direction colleague Niall Horan once told the media that the band got a “dressing-down” from their management after losing a substantial sum on one casino visit.

Jay Z

Poker is Jay Z’s game of choice at the casino – but Beyonce’s husband is not always lucky.

A few years ago, Jay Z was said to have lost $500,000 in a high-stakes game, while last year he was pictured heading to a private poker game with fellow A-list star Kevin Hart.

Nelly

Another fan of poker from the world of music is Nelly, who made headlines earlier this year when he got into a row with another player at the table.

Nelly has entered the World Series of Poker a few times, but is yet to record a big win there.

Lemmy

Motorhead icon Lemmy was famous for his passion for playing slot games.

The Sunset Strip’s Rainbow Bar And Grill was Lemmy’s favourite haunt and he could regularly be found spinning the reels there. As legend has it, his favorite game from the Rainbow Bar and Grill was eventually installed at Lemmy’s home so he could play at his own convenience. He even played it on the day that he died of terminal cancer, back in 2015.

Lemmy – whose real name was Ian Kilmister – loved to gamble so much that it was natural his passing was marked by the creation of a Motorhead slot game by Swedish developer NetEnt.

“Motorhead will form a great addition to our NetEnt Rocks series of games,” said the studio’s Simon Hammon on its announcement. “NetEnt will make a game the band will be proud of by creating a fast-paced slot machine that is in tune with the energy and passion of the music.”

Scott Ian

Anthrax founder member Scott Ian has long been one of the best known gamblers in the world of heavy metal. Poker is Ian’s favorite game and he has held partnerships with poker sites.

Ian finished 634th in the World Series of Poker main event back in 2009, so his skills at the poker table are almost as good as his musical ability. The Anthrax star has been pictured enjoying a game of poker with various other celebrities over the years, including Keanu Reeves.

P Diddy

American icon P Diddy – previously known as Puff Daddy and various other stage names – has regularly been seen enjoying trips to casinos over the years.

Diddy is known to be a particular fan of blackjack and was even spotted playing hands at the table when he was supposed to be performing a live set at a special event at the Harrah’s Atlantic City Resort casino.

Real name Sean Combs, rap star Diddy is even reported to have asked for a blackjack table to be installed in his dressing room whenever he goes on tour.

50 Cent

These days 50 Cent makes as many headlines for his betting as he does for his career. The rapper and actor is known for his massive sports bets but he also enjoys the casino.

Indeed, 50 has even rapped about his gambling habit on some of his hits. On his track What Do You Got, he rapped: “I lost money when I bet on Roy, Won money when I bet on Floyd, I’m the one that bet on boy.”

50 Cent regularly posts about his gambling on social media, which inevitably makes the news.
