Horses have been the most loyal human companion for thousands of years. Throughout history, we’ve created a special bond with these majestic animals that helped us advance to a point that we are today.
This is why many artists try to highlight such relationships and stories through songs. Additionally, horses symbolize many different things such as endurance, valor, freedom, determination, spirit, beauty, and majesty. Plus, there are famous horses in history like Secretariat or Seabiscuit horse, who have been the subject of movies.
Singers often use horses in their lyrics to symbolize something else, and many of the songs actually have a far deeper meaning than just talking about horses.
With that said, some great songs include horses within the lyrics, and no matter your taste, here are some of the most popular horse-themed songs that should be catchy for every horse enthusiast.

Here we have a pop song from one of the most-loved contemporary artists of our time. This song came out as one of the first hits that Taylor made and it is actually a really good song.
Despite having a strong title about horses, the song isn’t focused on the animal. In fact, it is about the fairytale of falling in love, only to realize it won’t happen.

Knowing Willie Nelson, it is safe to assume that horses are a really important part of his life. His love for horses goes to a point where he dedicated most of his life to saving horses from slaughter.
Such stories are told through his music, as the song “Ride Me Back Home” was inspired by one of the horses he rescued.
