Musical acts performing in Vegas

By Mitch Rice

Las Vegas is famous for one thing, right? Gambling.

Wrong. The lively, exciting city in the Nevada desert is actually famous for many, many things, from its stunning architecture to some of the world’s best restaurants.

It’s a thriving tourist site, a world-famous sporting venue, an international shopping destination and the most important hub for memorable adventures in the amazing surrounding wildernesses.

And one of Vegas’s biggest attractions is the range and quality of the musical acts that perform there.

That’s why each year some of the biggest names in the entertainment industry play at the big Las Vegas stages. So it’s not just about getting the best poker hands in Vegas – it’s about finding the best tickets in town too.

The Las Vegas musical heritage

The city has hosted some of the biggest and best known concerts ever. It has become a world-famous venue for top singers and bands.

The most iconic of all the Las Vegas stars must be Elvis. The ‘King of Rock and Roll’ performed an enormous number Vegas gigs in the seventies.

Many people’s image of the star is in a white cat-suit gyrating on a Vegas stage.

And he is still associated with the city. You’ll see Elvis impersonators and Elvis themed events all over the city.

Another icon of Las Vegas stages is the blue-eyed crooner Frank Sinatra. His smooth voice and relaxed delivery was a regular Vegas attraction right from the fifties to the nineties.

And more recent star residencies in the city have included major stars like Britney Spears, Jennifer Lopez, Elton John and Celine Dion.

What’s coming up in 2023?

Barry Manilow

The smooth singer and composer of hits like ‘Mandy’ and ‘Copacabana’ is a long-time Vegas favourite. Barry’s concerts at the Westgate Resort in Las Vegas this year start on February 16 – and then run regularly right through the year until December.

Katy Perry

Dynamic singer Katy Perry is another Vegas regular. Catch her performing at the Resorts World stage on the 3 and 4 of March this year.

Can’t make those dates? Don’t worry, Katy is back for more Vegas dates in April too.
