Aaron Lewis is the main singer for the hard rock/post-grunge band Staind. He was born in Rutland, Vermont, on April 13, 1972. Lewis spent his summers as a child growing up in rural Vermont hunting and fishing with his grandpa, a World War II soldier, according to the Country Boy Songfacts. The artist said that country music has always been a part of his upbringing. His granddad listened to all of the greats, including Hank Williams, Hank Williams Jr., and Merle Haggard. Lewis and his grandpa took the bus together a few times during Staind’s 1999 first tour with Kid Rock, and they became close because of this music. Since then, Lewis has been unable to let go of it.
Lewis is a well-known songwriter who has received three Grammy nominations. He likes to go fishing, play golf, and take his little dirt bike out. He has performed solo acoustic gigs in pubs across Atlanta, cleaned hotel rooms, and worked in landscaping. He is married to Vanessa Lewis and has three daughters: Nyla Rae, Zoe Jane, and Indie Shay.
