Standing Room Only! Live Music Returns to Toronto’s The Senator Restaurant this weekend!

The historic and incomparable Senator Restaurant, long associated with live music, proudly introduces a new LIVE concert series for the summer: the ‘Senator Serenade from the Balcony’ — starting this Friday, June 26th!

The Victoria Street mainstay has taken musical matters into their own hands, transforming their balcony into a well-spaced stage 25 feet off the ground to ‘Serenade’ patrons and passers by alike every week from 4:00 – 6:00 pm.

“It’s a Senator Serenade from the Balcony,” Senator Restaurant operations manager Sybil Walker enthuses of creative and safe workaround to satisfy Toronto live music lovers in the time of COVID-19. “In the spirit of making lemonade out of lemons, we are hoping to raise our community’s spirit with this balcony concert series.”

And speaking of lemonade, a freshly squeezed selection of the restaurant’s summertime specialty will be on sale at street level by Senator staff, as well as pastries, sweets, coffee, tea, and more.

First up this Friday, June 26th will feature multi-award winning Toronto vocalist Ori Dagan performing six feet apart alongside guitarist Nathan Hiltz and saxophonist Alison Young.

Located directly behind Yonge-Dundas Square, the outdoor endeavours will continue throughout the summer. Audiences at home can tune into the livestream via the Senator’s Facebook page, and have the opportunity to tip performers virtually.
