Unison Has A Natural Disaster Relief Program For Canadian Music Workers Affected By The Fires In LA

Unison’s Natural Disaster Relief program was created to support Canadian music workers who have been employed in the music industry for a minimum of 5 consecutive years, earn the majority of their income from music, and have been affected by a natural disaster that has resulted in the loss of their primary residence, personal belongings, loss of income, or expenses incurred due to evacuation.

Eligible applicants are required to complete an application and provide supporting documents. These include a government-issued photo ID, proof of hardship (such as a letter from an employer about job loss due to a natural disaster, a government report or notice of a natural disaster affecting your primary residence or place of employment, or a statement from a disaster relief agency detailing the area affected by a natural disaster), and a resume or bio.

The program provides approved applicants a one-time $2,500 direct support payment. This financial aid can be used at the applicant’s discretion for matters deemed most urgent, providing the flexibility needed in times of crisis.
