Three Rising Stars You Need to Know: Meet Spotify’s New RADAR Canada Ambassadors

Since the launch of the RADAR program, Spotify has been shining a spotlight on the next wave of groundbreaking artists from across the world. And when it comes to Canada, the talent pipeline just keeps getting better.

This spring, three incredible homegrown artists — Maz B, Baby Nova, and Chxrry22 — are taking over as Spotify’s RADAR Canada ambassadors for April, May, and June. If you’re not familiar with them yet, consider this your official heads-up: These are the names you’ll be hearing a lot more from.

Maz B (April) is an R&B and soul artist out of Winnipeg with a sound that pulls you right in. With emotive vocals, heartfelt songwriting, and a fresh EP (Apollo) that feels like a late-night drive and a heart-to-heart conversation rolled into one, Maz B is setting the tone for spring.

Baby Nova (May) comes from Nova Scotia, and her music feels exactly like the place that raised her: expansive, thoughtful, and full of deep emotional storytelling. She captures the quiet, in-between moments of life in songs that are as powerful as they are delicate.

Chxrry22 (June) is bringing her global edge to the alt-R&B scene. Hailing from Toronto — and making history as The Weeknd’s first female signee to XO — Chxrry22’s smooth vocals, internet-born aesthetic, and Ethiopian roots are reshaping what Canadian R&B sounds like in 2025.

Even better: Each artist will not only be curating the RADAR Canada playlist with their favorite new genre-bending artists, but they’ll also be featured on a massive billboard at Toronto’s Yonge-Dundas Square. (We love to see it.)
