For Black Music Month, Living Colour hit the NPR Tiny Desk to honor the 35th anniversary of Time’s Up. Kicking off with “Cult of Personality”, the band delivered a powerful set that paid tribute to their roots in Hendrix, Motown, and Bad Brains. Even in a smaller setting, Vernon Reid’s guitar wizardry, Corey Glover’s searing vocals, and the deep rhythmic backbone of Doug Wimbish and Will Calhoun proved that volume isn’t what makes them legendary—it’s presence.
