Michael Jackson’s Isolated Vocals For “Human Nature”

Released on July 4, 1983, Michael Jackson’s “Human Nature” became the fifth Top 10 hit from Thriller, reaching #7 on the Billboard Hot 100. Produced by Quincy Jones and written by Toto’s Steve Porcaro and John Bettis, the song was inspired by Porcaro’s daughter and features dreamy synths and Jackson’s tender vocals. Though it wasn’t intended for Thriller, Jones heard the demo by chance and saw its potential. “Human Nature” went on to become a fan favorite and a widely sampled classic, influencing artists like Nas and SWV.
