What began as a tongue-in-cheek challenge from comedians Andrew Heaton and Justin Robert Young has now taken on surreal, symphonic life. Armed with otamatones—part toy, part instrument—the Western Boone Junior-Senior High School band transformed novelty into spectacle. Under Leslie Baker’s direction, the goofy synthesizer became a strange, joyful weapon of sound, collapsing irony into earnest musical celebration.
