In 2012, Ann and Nancy Wilson of Heart performed a moving rendition of Led Zeppelin’s Led Zeppelin’s IV album at the Kennedy Center with Jason Bonham, as Robert Plant, Jimmy Page, and John Paul Jones watched in awe. Ann has often credited the record the one that transformed her life, joining the ranks of her other teen influences like The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, and Elton John. To her, Plant’s lyrics and Zeppelin’s songwriting made it a “teaching album,” one that inspired her to recreate its poetry in song.
When asked in an interview: “why do you ladies play Led Zepplin?” She replied, “because we can”.
Damn right.
