OK, now that you have that, here are 5 thing you REALLY need to know:
Time Your Submission Strategically
Don’t rush to submit early—waiting until closer to the deadline lets you share the most up-to-date materials. Judges want the best version of your work, so make sure your press quotes, streams, and accomplishments are current and accurate right up to the wire.
Triple-Check Your Spelling and Metadata
Yes, spelling matters. A misspelled name, track, or album title can hurt your credibility. Ensure your song titles, credits, bios, and any supporting documents are error-free. Metadata should match exactly what’s available on DSPs (Spotify, Apple, etc.).
Test Every Link and File
Judges are reviewing hundreds of submissions—if your audio file doesn’t play or your EPK link is broken, they’re moving on. Before hitting “submit,” click every link, download every asset, and play every file to confirm everything works seamlessly.
Make Your EPK Shine
Don’t just dump links—create a polished, one-stop-shop with everything judges need. Include high-quality press photos, updated bio, key stats (streams, chart positions), and a clear summary of why your project matters in today’s landscape.
Highlight Your Impact, Not Just the Music
Awards recognize influence as much as artistry. Include notable achievements: festival appearances, social impact, viral moments, international airplay—anything that shows your cultural footprint. Context matters, especially in competitive categories.
