The original unaired 60-minute pilot of The Gong Show from 1975 offers a fascinating look at what might have been. Unlike the version that eventually aired, the pilot featured a different host, an alternate set design, more celebrity panelists, and an abundance of gongs. It’s a quirky time capsule that highlights the experimental spirit behind one of television’s strangest game shows.
