Tunng return with a beautifully psychedelic new single, “Anoraks,” out now on Full Time Hobby. Arriving just ahead of their UK and Paris headline shows this November, the track captures everything that’s made the folktronica pioneers so loved — warmth, wonder, and the kind of sonic storytelling that feels like stepping into a dream.
“Anoraks” closes a landmark year for Tunng, who celebrated two decades together with their critically acclaimed 20th-anniversary album Love You All Over Again in January, followed by a sold-out European tour. This new song, however, feels like a fresh chapter — an exploration of nostalgia, connection, and the strange magic that links us all.
Built around a lucid, dreamlike narrative, “Anoraks” blends interwoven acoustic guitars, shimmering electronics, and haunting percussion. Each member recorded their part separately — from Sweden, Margate, London, and Somerset — yet the final result is seamless, a testament to the group’s singular chemistry. As Sam Genders explains, “It fell in a bit like a dream… faster than I was able to write it down,” while Mike Lindsay recalls, “We knew we just wanted to write one really special song.”
Fans can experience that same magic live this November when Tunng take “Anoraks” and their 20-year legacy of innovation back to the stage.
