The Cribs are back with a brand new single, “A Point Too Hard To Make,” and the announcement of their highly anticipated new album Selling A Vibe, set for release on January 9, 2026. The beloved Wakefield trio also revealed plans for a major outdoor homecoming show at Leeds Millennium Square on July 11, their first time performing there in a decade. The show follows their sold-out UK headline tour this March with support from Courting.
“A Point Too Hard To Make” follows August’s fan-favorite single “Summer Seizures” and continues the band’s exploration of raw emotion and reconnection. Built on ringing guitars, heartfelt harmonies, and the unmistakable dual vocals of Gary and Ryan Jarman, the song embodies the band’s signature melodic urgency. “All that 2000’s damage, basically. Small-town romantics – years spent longing for connection, escape, excitement – given in abundance, for an entire decade. What do you do when the party is over? Where does it leave you? We will let you know if/when we get there. We’ve still got each other though,” says Gary Jarman.
Produced by Patrick Wimberly (Solange, MGMT, Lil Yachty), Selling A Vibe represents both a creative renewal and a heartfelt reconnection between brothers Gary, Ryan, and Ross Jarman. After two decades together, the band took time away from touring to rediscover their bond beyond music. “We’d always said if we made another record we would focus on enhancing the pop element of the band,” Gary explains. “We don’t want this to be seen as an ‘indie rock’ or ‘punk’ record. Our only hope is that people connect with the songs and lyrics for what they are. We want them to be for everyone, really.”
A Point Too Hard To Make arrives with a video that ends with a touching embrace between Gary and Ryan, underscoring the album’s theme of rediscovery and unity. With Selling A Vibe, The Cribs lean into melody and vulnerability, crafting an album that feels both deeply personal and defiantly universal.
