The project marks his most personal and expansive work to date, blending hip-hop, soul, and experimental soundscapes shaped by his travels to Ghana, Jamaica, and beyond. Created with longtime collaborator DexLvL, Star Line meditates on identity, resilience, and legacy while remaining deeply rooted in Chance’s Chicago origins and black cultural traditions.
The album’s lead single, “Tree,” featuring Lil Wayne and Smino, reimagines India.Arie’s “Video” as a soulful liberation anthem. Its self-directed music video, set in a black women-owned dispensary, highlights ownership and empowerment through vibrant storytelling and community celebration.
