Alt-pop powerhouse Lights is back with a bang, lighting up speakers everywhere with her new track “Learning To Let Go.” The shimmering single captures the emotional highwire between heartbreak and freedom, wrapping it in glittering synths and heartfelt energy. The song arrives with a stunning self-edited video from Lights herself, inviting fans deeper into the dreamy A6 world she continues to build.
“‘Learning To Let Go’ is essentially about emotional shapeshifting,” Lights explains. “The way our perception of something can change depending on our headspace or past experiences to the point where it’s hard to see the reality in a situation and extrapolate truth. Sometimes our only way forward is to learn to let go.” Her words pulse through every beat, making the song a reminder of growth, power, and release.
The single is the latest taste from her upcoming deluxe record A6EXTENDED, set to drop January 30. The project adds eight brand new songs to her acclaimed sixth studio album, A6, and comes with a full visual album crafted entirely by Lights. The music dives into every corner of life’s experience — from love and loss to self-discovery and creative bliss. “Past lessons, grief and loss, personal growth in a world that wants you to stay the same, the bliss of sensuality, and the recklessness of love,” she says. “It’s everything you’d write down in a small A6-sized journal because saying it out loud is often somehow harder.”
Lights is also hitting the road for her Come Get Your Girl 2026 North American tour, starting February 13 in Edmonton. Joined by Soft Cult, the tour includes 23 shows across North America, including six major Canadian stops in Edmonton, Calgary, London, Ottawa, Quebec City, and Montreal. Fans can expect a dazzling mix of synth-pop anthems and emotional storytelling brought to life with her signature sparkle and energy.
