Alternative Artist honestav Bets Big and Wins with Electrifying New Single ‘Wasted’

Alternative recording artist and songwriter honestav turns chaos into creation with his bold new single “Wasted,” out now via gamma. The track marks the lead single from his upcoming sophomore EP arriving in early 2026. Produced by Grammy-nominated duo Take A Daytrip (known for “Mo Bamba,” “Panini,” “Industry Baby,” and “Montero”), “Wasted” fuses gritty reflection with cinematic energy, its music video inspired by the cult classic Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas and filmed across neon casino floors and desert highways.

In a move as audacious as the song itself, honestav gambled half of the video’s production budget at the roulette tables in Las Vegas — and won. The video closes with him FaceTiming gamma. CEO Larry Jackson to share his incredible victory. “’Wasted’ is about that blurry space between escape and self-destruction,” says honestav. “It’s me trying to find meaning in the chaos, gambling with life, love, and sometimes literally the budget, and somehow coming out the other side with a story worth telling.”

“Wasted” arrives on the heels of his acclaimed album hara-kiri (Deluxe) and continues his streak of fearless storytelling and experimental sound. The single first premiered live during honestav’s North American festival debut at Austin City Limits, fresh off a Canada headline tour that drew over 2,500 fans per night. His upcoming live slate includes the first-ever comedy and music event Some Funny Shit in Chicago on November 8, a special Omaha performance on November 26, and a highly anticipated show at Webster Hall in New York City on December 9.

The new year will see honestav join Machine Gun Kelly on the Australia and New Zealand leg of The Lost Americana World Tour, marking his first major international run. It’s another defining chapter for an artist whose story began in rural Missouri and has since evolved into a movement built on raw emotion, risk, and resilience.

Born from personal loss turned into art, honestav’s music blurs the lines between alternative, indie-folk, hip-hop, and pop. His breakout hit “I’d Rather Overdose” launched him from hometown uploads to national acclaim, solidifying his reputation as one of alternative music’s most fearless and relatable new voices.
