French melodic death metal trio AEPHANEMER drops their fourth studio album ‘Utopie’ on October 31, 2025 via Napalm Records, celebrating with a final album single “Contrepoint” erupting with baroque influences and black metal arrangements. The Toulouse based band describes the track as their most polyphonic work on the record, designed to reveal new layers and ornaments with each listen. Following the success of ‘A Dream Of Wilderness’ (2021), the new album recalibrates their formula with heavier classical influences, blistering riffs, majestic orchestrations and Slavic folk undertones. Led by Marion Bascoul, AEPHANEMER delivers a fiercely technical and emotionally immersive experience blending melodic death metal with cinematic grandeur while exploring philosophical ideals and pushing for harmony between living beings.
The band embarks on a European tour kicking off early November with special guests VALHALORE, DARK OATH and WALDGEFLÜSTER. AEPHANEMER spent considerable time shaping melodies through polyphonic writing and building orchestral arrangements that feel both powerful and natural. ‘Utopie’ represents more than just an album, standing as an ideological reckoning and storm of sound from one of Europe’s most vital and visionary metal bands actively reinventing the melodic death metal landscape.
