Orlando sonic storytellers Magnolia Park return with their heaviest offering yet, the brand new single “CHASING SHADOWS” that marks their first release since opening the portal to their ‘VAMP’ universe earlier this year. The track serves as a powerful emotional climax to the album’s ambitious narrative, where protagonist Aurora XI grapples with devastating loss at the hands of her enemy.
Drawing inspiration from anime, horror and fantasy, the band crafted ‘VAMP’ as a soundtrack to an ominous journey through a dystopian world where rulers and rebels clash with the future hanging in the balance. “CHASING SHADOWS” showcases this vision through sludgy guitars and raging melodies that collide with a drum machine and catchy hooks, creating a sound that pushes the band into bold new territory.
The band shares that “Chasing Shadows” deals with feeling unworthy of love and the torment of losing someone close to you. They wanted to write a song about how Aurora feels after losing her sister Ophelia in the battle against the Shadow Cult. This raw emotional core drives the track’s intensity, making it a standout moment in the ‘VAMP’ story.
