Eric Clapton Revisits ‘Journeyman’ with Deluxe Reissue Featuring Vault-Gem Bonus Tracks

Eric Clapton’s acclaimed 1989 album ‘Journeyman’ gets a fresh breath of life with a Deluxe Edition reissue from Bushbranch and Surfdog Records, remastered and expanded to include four bonus tracks from the original sessions. Considered a creative and personal resurgence for Clapton, the album earned him a Grammy for the hit single “Bad Love” and stands as a powerful statement from an artist rekindling his fire. The remastered release adds unearthed session gems like “Forever,” discovered after Clapton stumbled on fan-uploaded outtakes on YouTube and dove into his vaults to bring them back to the surface.

“Journeyman finds Clapton overcoming battles with alcohol, drugs, and record labels,” reads the liner notes, “while celebrating the thing that always kept him running: His endless capacity to chase his music on whatever journey it takes him on.” The Deluxe Edition is available now on CD and vinyl, and the music sounds sharper, richer, and more emotionally grounded than ever.
