Briston Maroney has delivered a massive treat for fans and vinyl collectors, releasing his first-ever full-length concert recording, ‘Live at Red Rocks’, today, November 28th, as an exclusive part of Record Store Day’s Black Friday event. Limited quantities of the live album vinyl are available only at participating record stores, making this a truly coveted release. Recorded earlier this year at the world-famous Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colorado, during his sold-out “Long Hair, Long Life” co-headline tour with Peach Pit, ‘Live at Red Rocks’ captures Maroney and his band at their absolute onstage best. The band electrified the ecstatic crowd with high-flying, powerful renditions of songs spanning his still-evolving body of work, with the fourteen-track collection highlighted by a thrilling live take on the fan-favorite anthem, “Small Talk.”
This dynamic live album follows the spring release of Maroney’s critically lauded third studio album, ‘JIMMY’, which is available everywhere now. Co-produced by Maroney with Alex Farrar, ‘JIMMY’ is a psychedelically-inspired collection that saw the artist exploring the profound dichotomy of growing up as a child of divorce, shuttling between the devil-may-care spirit of his mother’s rural North Florida and the intensely pressured life of a Catholic school student in his dad’s Knoxville, Tennessee. The album features deeply personal, guitar-driven tracks like “Real Good Swimmer,” “Tomatoes,” and “Better Than You,” and was met by a flurry of applause from major outlets. Ones To Watch hailed the album as “a crescendo of possibilities, a visual novel set to music… a tribute to existing, to be oneself.”
