DRAGONY Returns with Epic ‘Elden Ring’ Inspired Single “Shadow and Flame”

Austrian power metal stalwarts Dragony are diving back into their deep pop-culture roots with the release of their new single, “Shadow and Flame.” Created over the summer of 2025, the track draws direct inspiration from the monumental video game Elden Ring and its Shadow of the Erdtree expansion. To match the game’s epic scale, the band has officially expanded their lineup with new lead singer Maria Nesh, whose versatile “Valkyrie” vocals add a fresh dimension to their sound. The single also features a powerhouse guest appearance from Brittney Slayes (Unleash The Archers), creating a vocal trifecta that rounds out the band’s FromSoftware-inspired trilogy alongside previous hits “Kiln of the First Flame” and “Lords of the Hunt.”

Produced by the legendary Jacob Hansen and featuring orchestral arrangements by Lasse Elkjear, “Shadow and Flame” is accompanied by a dark, somber cover by Stan Decker, depicting the Scadutree and the fiery serpent of Messmer. The release serves as a high-octane prelude to the band’s massive 2026 European tour alongside Ensiferum and Freedom Call, which kicks off in January. Whether they are exploring the lore of the Lands Between or delivering their signature historical fantasies from 2024’s Hic Svnt Dracones, Dragony continues to sharpen their craft as one of the most imaginative forces in the genre. This latest single is a technical and thematic triumph, proving that their creative well is as deep as the dungeons they sing about.
