Mike Mattison, a long-time member of the Tedeschi Trucks Band and Derek Trucks Band, has announced his third solo album, ‘Turn A Midnight Corner’, scheduled for release on January 16, 2026, via Landslide Records. The album, which features his band Trash Magic, is a conceptual blues project born from a novella Mattison began writing about a fictional 1930s country blues duo, “Ted ‘n’ Turk,” who are “rediscovered” in the 1970s.
Co-produced by Mattison and Jason Kingsland, ‘Turn A Midnight Corner’ was recorded live at Studio MG in Roswell, Georgia, to capture a “shambolic” and authentic blues feel. The record features a deeply connected band including guitarists Dave Yoke and Greg Spradlin, bassist Wesley Flowers, and drummer Tyler Greenwell. Mattison, a two-time Grammy winner and author of “Midnight in Harlem,” describes the project as an exploration of friendship, fidelity, and the shifting meanings of love over time.
