Black metal veterans Vreid have officially announced their upcoming album ‘The Skies Turn Black’, set for release on March 6, 2026, via Indie Recordings. Marking five years since their last offering, the album represents both a return to the band’s core Sognametal identity and a leap into their most ambitious musical territory to date. To celebrate the announcement, the band has unleashed the lead single “From These Woods,” a track born in a remote mountain cabin that crystallized into a centerpiece of the eleven-song collection. Produced alongside Anders Nordengen and featuring handcrafted artwork by Kim Holm, the record was born from a demanding creative process that pushed the group to their limits. Thirty years into their career, Vreid continues to build momentum, and following the album’s arrival, they will embark on a major European tour alongside Hypocrisy, Abbath, and Vomitory to bring their signature sound back to the stage.
