Lamb of God return with “Sepsis”, out now via Epic Records, delivering their first new original music since ‘Omens’. Produced by longtime collaborator Josh Wilbur, the track hits with controlled menace and deliberate pacing, channeling the band’s earliest instincts while sounding sharp and present. A grainy, lo-fi performance video directed by Gianfranco Svagelj pairs perfectly with the song’s tension, offering an unfiltered glimpse of Richmond’s darker corners.
According to Mark Morton, “Sepsis” is a tribute to the underground Richmond bands that shaped the group’s formative years, drawing a clear line back to the basement era of Burn the Priest. The release lands during a landmark period for Lamb of God, following anniversary celebrations, major festival appearances, and a powerful take on Black Sabbath’s “Children of the Grave”. “Sepsis” stands as a fierce reminder of where they came from and how strong that foundation still sounds today.
