Matisyahu releases his eighth full-length album ‘Ancient Child,’ a 12-song project that explores identity, spirituality, and generational connection through a wide-ranging musical lens. The album includes previously shared tracks “Son Come Up” featuring his son LAIVY, “Rockin Tempos” featuring Duvbear, and “Find A Way,” alongside the new focus track “Sound Foundation.” The artwork was created by visual artist Andrew Cotton, who produced original paintings for the album and each focus single.
Written in a period of reflection, ‘Ancient Child’ reconnects Matisyahu with his Jewish roots while drawing on more than two decades of musical influence. The record brings together family collaborations, layered production, and genre-blending songwriting shaped by personal history and lived experience, with Aaron Dugan joining as a longtime creative collaborator on the project.
