Alt-country supergroup Chaparelle has collaborated with Grammy Award-winning artist Sierra Ferrell to release their newest single, “When It Snows In Texas.” Released through Mom+Pop Music on October 24, 2025, the track serves as a sonic love letter to the trio’s home state, capturing the surreal and rare beauty of a Texas snowfall. The song was co-written by Ferrell alongside band members Zella Day, Jesse Woods, and Beau Bedford during a summer writing session in the Texas Hill Country. Recorded at Modern Electric Sound Recorders, the production utilizes a melodic narrative and sultry, timeless storytelling that recalls the golden age of country music while maintaining a contemporary edge.
The collaboration marks a significant milestone for the Austin-based trio, following the successful release of their debut album Western Pleasure in April 2025. Composed of indie-pop standout Zella Day, singer-songwriter Jesse Woods, and acclaimed producer Beau Bedford, Chaparelle has quickly become a fixture on the festival circuit with appearances at Newport Folk Festival and Willie Nelson’s Luck Reunion. The instrumentation on the new single highlights the group’s “countrypolitan” aesthetic, blending lush harmonies with the sharp guitar work that Bedford has previously lent to artists like Orville Peck and Wyatt Flores. This release further solidifies Chaparelle’s reputation for creating high-wire sonic performances that balance intimate vulnerability with a captivating stage presence.
