Fishbone launch into 2026 by honoring their roots with a 40th anniversary reissue of their debut album ‘In Your Face’. First released in 1986, the album stands as a foundational statement that helped reshape punk, ska, funk, and alternative music, setting the tone for a career defined by fearless genre-blending and social urgency.
The ‘In Your Face’ 40th Anniversary Reissue arrives as a limited-edition two-disc vinyl set, with pre-orders for black and Tiger’s Eye variants beginning January 9 through the band’s webstore. Limited to 1,000 copies worldwide, each pressing includes special collector inserts, with additional tour and independent retail editions to be announced.
Disc One presents the original ‘In Your Face’ album in full, while Disc Two, titled ‘Cover Your Face’, features newly recorded interpretations of songs from the album by artists from around the world. This tribute format draws enthusiastic responses for turning influence into dialogue, with participating artists to be revealed soon.
Originally produced by David Kahne, the reissue brings the story full circle under the coordination of Pablo Mathiason of Civilized Artist Management. Upon its original release, ‘In Your Face’ earned acclaim from Billboard and The New York Times, recognition that continues to echo today as Fishbone remain creatively active following their 2025 album ‘Stockholm Syndrome’ and ongoing work toward a new studio release in early summer 2026.
