Psychedelic institution Gong have announced their new album ‘Bright Spirit’, set for release on March 13 via Kscope. The news arrives alongside a new single and video, “The Wonderment”, which finds the band in a deeply meditative and exploratory space, rooted in texture, movement, and expansive atmosphere.
Speaking on the track, frontman Kavus Torabi said, “Structured around modulating glissando guitar and a pulsating analogue synth sequence, The Wonderment finds Gong in deeply meditative form. A mystical and explorative journey both inwards and outwards. Timeless and expansive.” The song draws an enthusiastic response for its sense of calm intensity and its ability to feel both ancient and futuristic at once.
Recorded with long-time collaborator Frank Byng in his South London studio, ‘Bright Spirit’ marks the third chapter in a trilogy that includes ‘The Universe Also Collapses’ and ‘Unending Ascending’. Dreams, love, and liminal states shape the album’s inner logic, from the opening transmission of “Dream Of Mine” to the tenderness of “Fragrance Of Paradise”. Gong take this material on the road throughout 2026, continuing to channel their ever-evolving cosmic vision into live settings across Europe and the UK.
