and that’s exactly what happens in this performance from the O’Keefe Music Foundation. Led by 11-year-old vocalist Veronica Seibert, the song is handled without drama or display, her delivery calm and direct, the band content to let the melody and space do the talking. It’s not about imitation or reinvention, just an understanding of why the song still lingers more than thirty years on.
