David Nail returns March 6 with “The Crown,” a new single inspired by a true story from his hometown of Kennett, Missouri. Written with Anderson East, the track launched a two-year creative partnership that evolved into a full record. Nail describes it as the starting point for everything that followed. “A few hours later, ‘The Crown’ was born,” he said, recalling the first writing session that set the tone for the project.
To introduce the new music, Nail will hit the road solo on his 2026 “Down To The Studs Tour,” an acoustic run focused on small-capacity venues and direct connection. Traveling alone with a guitar, he plans to share stories and debut “The Crown” alongside his multi-platinum catalog. The newly added Southeast dates expand an already wide-reaching itinerary that stretches from Maryland and New England through Texas and into the Carolinas and Georgia.
The stripped-back format reflects Nail’s continued commitment to letting the story lead. The tour places him face-to-face with audiences in listening rooms and theaters across the country, emphasizing honesty and immediacy as he begins this next chapter.
